Good Timing

Do you embrace what is good in the present?

Remember the flux capacitor, or the Star Trek wormholes, or the wardrobe to Narnia? These vehicles of time travel left us imagining what it would be like to go back and fix a mistake or fast forward to get ahead of the curve.

But the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes declares that every good thing has its moment in God’s plan. The New Testament adds that by reconciling all time in Christ, God weaves beauty into every season. Sure, some cling to the past, and others worry over the future – but the wise embrace what is good in the present.

And that’s what Jesus preached – that God’s kingdom is now, it’s at hand, in this very moment, and when you beautify this day, this hour, you live in God’s time.
