Silent Night.

Do you have a favorite Christmas tradition?  Maybe driving to see lights or gathering with friends to bake or wrap gifts.

For many, it’s the music that leads us into the heart of the season. And near the top of the list is “Stille Nacht” (STEE-luh nahkt) – “Silent Night.”

Legend has it that an Austrian pastor wrote the song on a cold night, walking home under the stars. At its first performance a few months later, the organ broke down, so a musician grabbed a guitar, stood up, and sang a simplified version – the rest is history.
